Professional Background


Franz has been involved in the Canadian and German real-estate market for some 25 years and has gathered first hand experience navigating his way through the mortgage jungle. He personally owns a multi-million dollar real-estate portfolio. Franz has held numerous positions as an engineer and in high-profile sales positions for IBM and other high-tech firms in Germany, the US, and Canada. He has also been a business consultant at the C level for some of the largest corporations in Western Canada, has founded his own business development consulting firm, established a new technology consulting company in California, and has a firm handle on the high-tech industry and various industries such as banking, insurance, manufacturing, health, education, and start-up organizations.  


Personal Background

Franz has received his formal university education in Germany, spent 16 years with IBM and successfully operated his own high-tech business consulting firm for some ten years. He fluently speaks German.  


Professional Interests

Franz has spent much time as a volunteer for Junior Achievement, where he received the prestigious “Volunteer of the Year” award. He is also an accomplished public speaker and has held various positions with the Toastmasters’ Organization. While working for IBM, he received 4 technical and  6 sales awards, in addition to the coveted General Managers Award and has been a member of the IBM Vice-President’s Advisory Council.

Away from his desk, Franz is an accomplished musician and performs with a number of musical ensembles and as a soloist in Canada, the US and various countries in Europe. He has been heard on the radio and has been seen on TV. He also teaches music theory and the rare skill of French Musette on his accordion. On occasion Franz can be seen on stage as a stand-up comedian.
